Dubai is a part of the UAE and not a country in itself, so you will get a visa for UAE. Dubai visa is one of the easiest to get. You will have to approach a local or online travel agent because the UAE embassy, as of now, does not issue a tourist visa to ordinary passport holders. The easiest, quickest and cheapest way to get this Visa is the travel agent.

DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS

When I first applied for the Dubai tourist visa, I was asked for the return flight tickets by my travel agent. However when applying for the second time through the same travel agent, I was asked only a copy of the passport and payment fees. But here are the official requirements.

  • Scanned copy Passport in original which is clear and not blurred.
  • 1 passport sized photograph with white background
  • Visa fees – can vary from Rupees 6-7,000.

Additional documents (not compulsory) that can be requested.

  • Bank statement for the last 6 months.
  • Income Tax Return for the previous year.
  • Confirmed hotel reservation.
  • Confirmed flight tickets.

PLEASE NOTE: Processing time is 3-4 days. But please note that they do not operate on Fridays and Saturday. So keep that in mind as your travel agent will not work on Sundays as well. Essentially 3 days in the week will be lost this way in processing.

The Visa that you get is a PDF copy. You will need to carry a print of this when boarding the aircraft. Also, carry this Visa copy and your passport everywhere in Dubai as police frequently stop and ask travelers to show their documents to prove their identity.

Indian passport holders who have a valid US visa or a Green card are eligible to get a VOA (visa-on-arrival) for UAE. Visa duration is 14 days and fees are 120 AED (Rs. 2070 approx.)

You can also contact some airlines like FlyDubai, who will process the visa for you if you are flying with them.
